Five Items

A classic question, revisited: what are the five items you must have on a deserted island?

1. Lotion. This is key. I cannot imagine living on a deserted island and having dry skin. I think that would be the first thing to kill me. I despise dry skin. Thinking about this is making me want to put on lotion. (Hold on one sec while I do so…)

2. A Pillow. There is no way I’m sleeping without a pillow. I would not even be able to get to sleep. This would just be so unfortunate to be without. It kinda makes me want to cry. There’s nothing like a nice soft pillow to take your cares away.

3. Signal Flares. Yeah, that’s right. I’m not about to reenact Lost. No way. Not unless it was the whole dream sequence, because in that case, I would be okay with it. Kind of. Maybe not. That would be a really sucky dream.

4. A lighter. I would never be able to build my own fire with just sticks. Or however you do that. No matter how hard I tried. I’m not Katniss Everdeen, after all.

5. I would like to company of another person because it will most likely get really lonely on the island. But I’m not into reenacting the whole baby-born-on-an-island-as-a-result-0f-sexual-awakening Blue Lagoon scenario. But I still would love the company and if I had to pick just one person, it would have to be…Tom Hiddleston. He would make me laugh and he could dance and he would smile at me and be kind to me. He would basically be the best entertainment and the best island buddy. He would also be able to fight off the rabid animals that will obviously come after me.

  2. I’m gonna need some chapstick to accompany the lotion for sure. Pillow – good call. Books though. Music. And, maybe a boat for when I decide to go back to reality. Company would be good. I’m gonna need 7 or 10 things. I don’t travel light. Enjoyed your post.
